DManns was brought to fruition in January 2003 by Dwayne Kerr for the sole purpose of creating a production vehicle to express himself as an artist. Unofficially Dwayne had began that journey a few years prior when he produced demo’s to submit to music labels before formally creating DManns. Dwayne began to realize that he was seen only as a flutist by the music industry. Limitations were placed upon him concerning the style and viability of music he should create solely because he played the flute. Frustration began to set in as Dwayne had come to the realization that he wanted to explore many different musical outlets. An artist should be allowed to explore different styles and genres without being limited musically. The very essence of being an artist is about self expression, being able to create different musical environments. DManns allows Dwayne the freedom to explore himself as an artist who happens to play the flute.
In 2003 Dwayne released his first CD entitled Flutation on DManns, a mixture of Soul/R&B and Contemporary jazz. In 2007 Dwayne followed up with his second release Higher Calling which produced (3) smooth jazz radio singles which charted on Smooth jazz radio for 29 weeks.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR DMANNS?
Dwayne has released his current project Emmanuel in 2024, “If you like Take Six, Bobby McFerrin, Pentat onix then you’ll love Emmanuel”. Dwayne refers to Emmanuel as “flutecapella” meets beatbox which consists of Dwayne playing multiple flute parts, beatbox and creating bass lines on the flute while recreating Christmas classic’s.
Alter Call will be Dwayne’s follow up project to Emmanuel, Alter Call is an audio/visual project which is based on scripture from the Bible…..stay tuned!
